Justine gave a brief history of the commission.  This is fourth year that the school district has sponsored the ski club.  We are still expecting to turn it over to municipalities.  Should reconvene in Sept., and make sure municipalities have budgeted for insurance and help superintendent making sure the laws are in place.  Under auspices of PTA, have begun tennis lessons for the kids.  The Rec. commission should open more opportunities for use of school facilities.

B. Coniglio – Gary Murphy will remove “draft” from 3.10 Intermunicipal Agreement.  Village approved final document.  Had public hearing February 17, 2004 and adopted local law.  Town of Northeast and Town of Amenia still need to adopt the law.

Tom Werner – will ski club be operated much the same way as basketball program (is AAU activity)?  Best to dovetail with successful programs.  Any activity, ball sports could be considered, could be offered through Rec. Commission.   Roger:  Is a great opportunity for additional programs.  Gary:  Idea is for programs to ideally support themselves, with the umbrella insurance covered by municipalities.

Insurance – There was some discussion about enrollment being tied to insurance cost sharing, but it was resolved that it would be shared equally (1/3/municipality) for the first year, at least.
