Amenia Recreation Commission Minutes for September 5, 2006

Meeting called to order at 7:15 p.m.

Capital Fund – Suggestion for Paving Beekman Park walkway.

Summer Recreation Director – Linda will advertise for position and then set up interviews with the Recreation Commission. 

Financial Report – Frankie gave a financial report to date with a YTD spending of $50,723.00

Recreation Director Report – Ken requested he needs to move funds $3,000.00 from the Personal service (A00-06-7150-100) to the Town Parks (A00-06-7110-400) to complete his year end work. Motion made and the Board approved.

Walking Program – Frankie reported that the funding for this program is from the Center of Disease Control and they are sending a survey to the towns people to see if they truly want it.  Frankie also stated that we can use the school for walking from 4p.m.-8p.m. Monday-Friday.

Ballroom Dancing -  Linda reported that the classes will be starting up again in late September through October.

Co-ed Volleyball – Pete reported that they will begin on October 3^rd 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Amenia Elementary. 

Flag Football – is going extremely well nearly 40 kids in program!

Busing – Tom was concerned over the fact that we were charged for 3 trips instead of 2.  The Commission fully supports that we authorized 2 trips to be paid to Millerton Rec.  Pete also brought up the concern of charging us for 1 counselor more.  Pete will be meeting at Millerton’s Rec meeting on 9/11/06 to discuss the overages.

Next meeting is October 3, 2006 at the Wassaic Firehouse.
