Overview
The Amenia Housing Board works with Amenia residents and stakeholders to facilitate the development of working-class homes and economic development.
- All volunteer group appointed by the Town Board.
- Researches and documents needs.
- Raise awareness.
- Reviews and recommends projects subject to Amenia’s workforce housing law to the Amenia Planning Board.
- Administers and monitors Amenia’s workforce housing program.
- Advises the Town Board on needs, rules, regulations, and zoning.
- Works to build infrastructure supporting housing.
- Seeks public / private partnerships to develop housing.
The Amenia Housing Board was established by local law § 121-42 and comprised of seven members.
Amenia named a Pro-Housing Community.
Cascade Creek Workforce Housing Development
A new Amenia workforce housing development is in the pre-planning stage. The proposed subdivision will consist of 28 for-sale, single-family homes. Click here for more info. The Town of Amenia is no connected or funding this development.
We know there is a major need for affordable rental housing in Amenia and we are working hard on delivering that for the community.
Access to Home for Heroes/Veterans Program
The program provides financial assistance to make accessibility modifications, emergency home repairs or address code violations to the primary residences of low- and moderate-income veterans with disabilities. Click here.
